Renewable Energy in Belarus: VILGERTS Legal & Tax seminar

BelSEFF project consultant was represented in the panel of experts of the Renewable energy in Belarus seminar hosted by VILGERTS on May 20, 2015. The seminar was organized with the support of Sweden Embassy during XIII Republican environmental forum and international "Green house" fair.

There were representatives of companies with RES projects, potential investors, representatives of Sweden Embassy and Sweden businesses community.

Mr. Vassily Tarasevich, manager of BelSEFF, presented opportunities for renewable energy power plants financing through the facility.

During the panel discussion participants and experts shared their opinions regarding trends in the renewable energy industry in Belarus, anticipated regulatory developments.

The sentiment of the discussion was determined by a recently adopted Presidential Decree No. 209 Concerning the Use of Renewable Energy. According to it, the government will be entitled to determine and distribute quotas for the construction of renewable energy power plants connected to state grids and enjoying feed-in tariffs support.
