An EBRD visit to Uniflex, the leading Belarusian flexoprinting house

On 3 June 2016 an EBRD mission visited Uniflex, CJSC, a company specialised in full cycle flexoprinting  located in Gatovo, a suburb of Minsk. The company provides full range of services related to design and production of flexible packaging, vacuum pouches and self-adhesive labels. The firm delivers innovative packaging solutions for food, chemical, cosmetics and other industries developing and improving flexoprinting and digital technologies.

The company has served and supplied many Belarussian and foreign customers over its 20 years of existence.

Uniflex is one of the beneficiaries of the BelSEFF programme. It received a loan to replace two major energy intensive printing machines with a new, high-performance, more energy efficient one, to achieve energy savings.   An investment loan for development was extended by BelSEFF partner bank - Bank BelVEB, OJSC.

Modernization of equipment will enable Uniflex to achieve more operational efficiency, that is very significant point for company's clients. Emphasis is placed on the printing quality – new efficiency level should be achieved with appropriate standards.

The aim of the EBRD mission was to review the implementation of the BelSEFF project, to share experiences and the views on the way the project contributed to the development of the borrower's business.

The EBRD mission's visit was represented by the BelSEFF Operations Leader Mr. Vincent Duijnhouwer and the Principal Banker for BelSEFF Mr. Dzhakhongir Shamsiev, hosted by Uniflex's Deputy director Valery Rudko and accompanied by the BelSEFF team representatives, Mr. Vassily Tarasevich and Ms. Anastasia Yunchik.

The new BelSEFF financed printing machine was installed and commissioned at Uniflex's production facilities in 2016. The company showed the installation site and the functionality of the machine and explained modernization role in the implementation of the company's strategy.

Opportunities for further cooperation and financing were also discussed during the site visit.
