On 13 July 2017 an opening ceremony of mini-hydro power plant with a capacity of 200 kW on Issa river in Albertin settlement of Slonim district was held. The HPP was developed by a private LLC “Hydropark” and co-financed by BelSEFF facility. The power plant was constructed near “Albertin” plant on existing water reservoir, which was reconstructed for the project purposes. The supplier of equipment is MEW, S.C., Poland. The key equipment of the plant is a vertical turbine of “Kaplan” type produced in Poland.

The power plant operates in automatic mode. As the plant operator commented, the plant generates currently 80 kW per hour. The generated electricity is supplied to the public grid of Slonim electric grid company.

It is expected that the plant will generate annually up to 1 mln. kWh of electricity. The total project cost was approx. EUR 380 thousand, EUR 200 thousand of them was financed from the OJSC “Belinvestbank” loan under the BelSEFF facility of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. BelSEFF experts estimate that investments into plant will be paid-back over 4 years.
