"Fit for Partnership with Germany" – Manager Training Programme on Renewable Energy Sources The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (the German Federal Enterprise for International Cooperation, GIZ) on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economics and Technology (BMWi) is implementing the Manager Training Programme with a number of countries in Eastern Europe and Asia including Belarus. Within this framework, in the period from 6 June through 1 July 2016 yet another training for managers from Belarusian companies was organized in Germany by the Tübingen based Export Akademie Baden-Württemberg. This was the first time when such a training for the Belarusian participants was specifically focused on the emerging Belarusian renewable energy sector. 24 participants joined the training, including 19 Belarusians, representing various sides of the Belarusian RES sector – developers, engineering companies, technology providers, as well as four representatives from Ukraine and one from Kyrgyzstan. The BelSEFF facility manager Vassily Tarasevich was one of the selected participants of the group. The training agenda covered the RES sector in Germany, its management and regulation, clusters and their principles and role in development of economy and municipalities, detailed information on existing and perspective RES technologies, as well as general topics on doing business in and with Germany, search and identification of business partners in Germany and other. A significant component of the training was establishing contacts with German businesses – producers and suppliers of renewable energy / energy efficiency and related solutions and technologies, clusters, engineering firms and project developers, which was realized through many group and individual visits for the participants. Further, the participants made a visit to the major Inter Solar Europe exhibition in Munich on 23 and 24 June. The programme ensured that the participants build up the competence and business contacts in the area of renewable energy, learn the best practices and technologies. Equally importantly, the event allowed the participants to share their experiences in Belarus, establish contacts among themselves and identify business opportunities for the benefit of the renewable energy sector development in the country.
